Toms River (Ortley Beach): The McDonald’s in the Acme Plaza has traditionally closed for the off-season, and usually reopens sometime in April. This year the property has remained shuttered with zero preparation happening to reopen for the season. As of last week the building appears to begin getting emptied, and various McDonald’s insignia has been removed. The large pylon sign on the highway has been taken down, along with the sign mounted to the building. Unsure what happened, but it appears there will NOT be a McDonald’s on the island this summer.
The restaurant at 6 NJ 35 in Ortley Beach, NJ is still on the corporate website, but they are definitely not planning to reopen. The telephone number listed goes unanswered. We will update when we receive more information in regards to the permanent closure, and what will come next.
Somewhere in my pics, they charged me $11 for a Bacon Dbl Cheeseburger and my dumb ass felt obligated to pay it..

The owner sold is because it’s a very bad location they only do good during late June to end of august other than that business is very slow it will be hard to get something in there that will do good the owners have several other locations including long branch
Henry P Giarnieri that’s the problem with tourism. It’s not good for the local economy.
Maybe if they had normal hours for us locals and didn’t close at 5pm and had competent employees they would have had business
Christine Hinds I honestly don’t believe anything there would do good in winter with locals to be able to survive
Henry P Giarnieri You just summed up almost every business in the area. It’s seasonal
Haven’t eaten there in years but still sad, ending of an era.
