State Police Announces Third Victim Dies of Injuries Sustained in Fairfield Township Shooting

Detectives Charge Man at Party with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon

Fairfield Township, N.J. – As a result of the ongoing Fairfield Township shooting investigation, the New Jersey State Police announce the arrest of Darrell Dawkins, 30, of Bridgeton, N.J. Dawkins was at a party at a private residence when the shooting occurred and has been charged with unlawful possession of a handgun. The investigation at this time does not reveal that Dawkins is a suspected shooter at the party.

The investigation has established that Kevin Dawkins, 36, of Bridgeton, N.J. was also at the subject party. Additional charges of unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, possession of a high-capacity magazine, and certain persons not to possess weapons were filed in Fairfield Township.

Braylin Holmes, 19, of Millville City, N.J., succumbed to her injuries sustained in the shooting and was pronounced deceased last evening at Cooper University Hospital. Holmes was the third victim to die in the shooting.
