On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, the Stafford Township Police Department learned of potential school violence threat that was made on a school bus by a Southern Regional High School student – Deven Marino 18 years old, Manahawkin, N.J.
Marino was arrested and charged with making Terroristic Threats, and lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
He is not permitted to return to school.
Det. Erik Smithman and SRO Anthony Vincent led the investigation for the Stafford Township Police Department, and were assisted by Southern Regional School District Administrative Staff and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
As a reminder, the Stafford Township Police Department does not release photos of arrested subjects, and the public and the press are reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
