Ocean County: First responders responded to dozens of swimmers in distress calls over the weekend, where numerous swimmers needed to be rescued. Numerous patients required CPR, as medics rushed them to the hospital. We can now confirm that two residents have passed away from the riptides. Friends and family have told us that one man who passed away was a local from Seaside Park who was surfing. The man who was a very experienced swimmer, got caught in the riptide and unfortunately could not get back up. There are still a few patients in the hospital in critical condition.
