New Jersey to adopt mail-in voting for November, governor says
(CNN)New Jersey Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy said Friday that the state will use a hybrid voting model for November’s election where all New Jersey residents will be mailed a ballot, and it will be up to them to decide if they would like to vote by mail or in person.
“We’re going to have a hybrid model in November,” Murphy told CNN’s John Berman on “New Day.”
The announcement will make New Jersey — which conducted its primaries almost entirely by mail — the latest state to expand mail-in voting for the presidential election in response to the novel coronavirus.
Due to the pandemic, voting by mail is becoming an increasingly popular option since many voters may prefer not to wait in long lines at polling stations. New Jersey will be the ninth state — plus Washington, DC — to mail all registered voters ballots for the November election.
Murphy said that the state would extend the model of voting that the state used in the primary.
“We mailed ballots to folks who were registered in either party. We mailed applications to those who weren’t. And we also provided in-person voting capacity at least 50% in each county and at least one location in each municipality. It was a success. Not perfect, but overwhelmingly a success,” he said.
Murphy also said the state learned some lessons since the primary and will “have more presence of secure drop boxes, make sure there is that physical in voting capacity, and as it relates to mail-in ballots, the good news is in a general election, it doesn’t matter what party you’re in, everybody gets a ballot.”
For those who want to vote in person, Murphy said they will “do what we call ‘provisional voting’ because the folks won’t necessarily know at the voting location whether or not whether you actually already mailed a ballot in. That’s what we did in the primary. Little bit more cumbersome, but it works.”
News of the announcement, which was first reported by the New Jersey Globe, came the same day that President Donald Trump said he opposes much-needed funding for the Postal Service because he doesn’t want to see it used for mail-in voting this November.

Provisional’s are for people who did NOT make the voter rolls for that polling location in time for the election, either because they turned of age or moved in to close to make the cut off, or were too lazy to register in time, or are perpetrating FRAUD. They then fill out a paper ballot instead on site, suppossedly with verification for validity.
They are the ones you see being counted AFTER the polls closed and a specific candidate has already won that location but the other party realizes how votes they are short to steal that race and suddenly magic “provisional” ballots appear out of someones trunk and flip the race. Happened in 2018 in Congressional districts 2,3, and 7 at least.
But…..since “every vote counts” they are never really examined for validity or checked for duplication, so no “evidence” of voter fraud ever “appears”…………so the Dems claim it doesn’t actually exist.

Imagine this scenario… voting usually occurs in schools or civic buildings. Most schools will be closed, so social distancing is not an issue. Put 4 voting booths inside the unused school gym in opposite corners. That’s a social distancing mandate of 25-50 feet apart. Limit voters to wait outside until a booth is available. If we can gather in malls, casinos, retail stores, and other public spaces, 4 adults can gather in a school gym to vote.
Absolutely provide mail-in ballots for anyone who wishes to stay home, or chooses that option.

We go and vote every election year with the flu circulating and the flu kills a lot of people each year, even with a vaccine. Precautions can be taken to avoid the covid virus. An absentee ballot is different from all mail voting. Voting by absentee ballot a voter has to request a ballot in most cases, fill out a form & sign to authenticate the request. With all mail voting ballots there’s no certainty if it’s going to a live voter, or if the voter even lives there. Some voter registration rolls are in bad shape with multiple duplications. Voting in person decreases the chances of fraud!
