Lacey: The Forked River Rest Area will close completely on or around September 09, 2019. The entire complex will be torn down and replaced. The new rest area will be modeled after the newly-remodeled Monmouth Rest Area. This means motorists will have only the Atlantic City and Monmouth Rest Areas to use during the construction. The new complex hopes to be open in time for Memorial Day 2020. No word on the tenants which will be located inside the new building, other than a Sunoco Gas Station.
