Brick: It’s been a while since Famous Dave’s closed this location in town. Lately there has been some work done to the vacant restaurant. The whole inside has been gutted and is currently being rebuilt. Today crews are preparing the outside for a new facade.
OCSN interviewed some of the workers on scene to inquire on future plans for the property. Indeed the building has been sold or leased to new owners. According to plans, a new restaurant is set to open soon and it is likely to be an Italian restaurant. Construction crews didn’t have much information beyond the new owners are giving it an Italian-sounding name.
We will keep an eye on the restaurant and see what will become. All of us here at OCSN we’re hoping for a new barbecue place, but we will see!
Italian? I hope not. There’s a Carrabba’s right there, Tre down the street, and 5 zillion pizzerias.

Cracker Barrel’s are only located near large highways or off of interstate highways. This is how corporate wants it. You will never see if this far inland.

Famous Dave’s was a good casual eatery, I miss it…Happy to hear another restaurant moving in, but we are already loaded with Italian eateries in Brick.

I heard the owners of Manera’s (which I believe is a steak & seafood restaurant) in Manahawkin were buying it. It’s nice to have something new in town, but they will have a lot of competition if they decide to go Italian. The barbeque concept of Famous Dave’s wasn’t the problem. It was the struggles they’re having at the corporate level. They’ve closed a bunch of locations around the country.
Michael De Fortuna heard it was just a rumor. If you have been to maneras before it’s a small, quiet (kinda) upscale restaurant. I feel like that building is too big for them to be moving into. Idk
