Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced the identification and sentencing of two juveniles responsible for the Garden State Parkway arson in Brick Township. The incident caused the closure of the northbound and southbound lanes of traffic for 10 hours. The juveniles pleaded guilty to Arson and Criminal Mischief and were sentenced to 60 days in the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center, three years of probation, $15,000 in restitution, 50 hours of community service, and a fire setter’s education program. The investigation was a collaborative effort between the New Jersey State Police, Brick Township Police Department, and New Jersey Department of Transportation.
