Toms River: Earlier this week, news outlets acted on a misspelling of one of the control cities on the directional sign off the Mathis Bridge. The contractor with NJ DOT admitted the spelling of “Lavalette” was incorrect and will replace it. In the interim, a bag has been placed over the sign completely. While the rest of the sign was accurate, it is now totally blocked over and useless to motorists. Staff 01 & 08 went out the scene today and found the bagged sign!
Question is- How long to fix one extra L?
Think of how much money the town could save by dropping that superfluous “L”.
They could have ordered a new Lavallette sign and attached it easy. I’m sure they’ll waste tax money tearing it down and making a new one. That will take a 3 man crew a week.

How many people would have noticed the misspelling ??
