Jackson Police Department Patrol Blotter

The following is a sample of incidents that Patrol Officers recently responded to or were involved with. This does not represent all of the calls for service that were responded to during this time period. Any persons arrested or charged with offenses are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Additionally, except in specific circumstances, arrest and complaint information filed with the court is public information and names of those charged may be released.

Thursday April 18:

– DWI ARREST: At 0133 hours, officers responded to South New Prospect Road on the report of a male subject who had been located by firefighters from Station 55, asleep at the wheel of his running vehicle in an intersection. The firefighters had moved the vehicle from the roadway. The investigation resulted in the 51 year old male driver being arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving and reckless driving. P.O. Derek Thomason was the arresting officer.
– BURGLARY: At 1108 hours, a subject watching over a residence at Brookwood Parkway for a family member reported a burglary to the residence. It was reported that property valued in excess of $3,000.00 was stolen.
– ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: At 1330 hours, a resident of Willow Drive made a report of an attempted burglary to the residence.
– DISPUTE/DISORDERLY CONDUCT/CDS ARREST: At 1731 hours, multiple officers responded to the area of Brookfield Drive on the report of a disturbance. There were initial reports that an involved female subject was armed with a firearm or a hammer, it was not determined which. Officers located the 34 year old female at a nearby WaWa and as they attempted to speak with her, she began screaming and cursing at the officers and was then placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. During this time, she was also found to be in possession of marijuana. It could not be confirmed that a weapon was used in the incident. The female was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana and was released on summons pending a court appearance. P.O. Anthony Riso was the arresting officer.
Friday April 19:

– DISORDERLY CONDUCT/CDS ARREST: At 0106 hours, officers responded to a residence located on Brookfield Drive to assist the DCPP in a check at the residence of a female involved in an earlier dispute incident. As the check was being concluded, a 34 year old female who was involved in the earlier incident arrived home and began yelling a cursing at the DCPP agent, resulting in at least one neighbor calling 911 to report another dispute. As the behavior escalated, the female was arrested for disorderly conduct and during a search incident to the arrest, was found to be in possession of a partially consumed marijuana cigarette. She was processed and later lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
– FIRST AID/OVERDOSE: At 1859 hours, officers responded to the area of West Connecticut Concourse and South Dakota Avenue on the report of an unconscious male lying on the sidewalk. Officers located a 27 year old unresponsive male and made the determination to administer Narcan. The male regained consciousness and was later transported by first aid to an area hospital for treatment.

Saturday April 20:

– ATTEMPTED SUICIDE: At 1106 hours, officers responded to a residence in the township on the report that a 63 year old male had wanted to commit suicide. The officers did not get a response at the residence and made entry, locating the semi conscious male suffering from an overdose of medication. First Aid responded and transported the male to an area hospital for treatment.

Sunday April 21 (Easter):

– CRISIS INTERVENTION: At 1447 hours, officers responded to a residence in the township on the report of a teenaged juvenile attempting to harm himself. The juvenile was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
– ENDANGERING: At 2145 hours, officers responded to a residence in the township on the report of a physical dispute between a mother and her teenaged child. The officer’s investigation determined that the argument was caused over marijuana that the mother allegedly purchased for the child. DCPP was contacted about the incident and complaints were prepared charging the mother with: endangering the welfare of a child, distribution of marijuana, possession of marijuana (under 50 grams), simple assault and neglect of child.
– Also on this date patrol officers responded to 5 motor vehicle crashes, a report of simple assault, 2 reported domestic violence incidents, a theft and criminal mischief.

– The media and the public are reminded that any persons arrested or charged with any offenses or crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
