It’s crazy that we have to explain this, but here we go. A news page like ours operates on information over scanners, shared news articles, and rumors or opinions to seek the truth. This morning, as in today, the Lakewood News Network shared a current article on Instagram about the pending sale or redevelopment of the Flea Market site. The Lakewood News Network is a pretty legit source, they’re not as biased as Lakewood Poop.

A sale took place back in 2015-2016 of the property as we reported and other media outlets. If you pay for Asbury Park Bird Cage Liner, you can likely search their archives. Plans were even released showing the placement of apartments, stores, etc- as in someone invested time and money into this. Nobody knows how long the Flea Market has the lease for, and they responded publicly stating they’re staying open. We hope so too- we’re here to support local small businesses.

However, with the scarcity of land and lack of any interest to thwart overdevelopment, we all know that won’t be a Flea Market forever, the question should be exactly how long it has left, and hopefully how to find another site to operate a Flea Market.

It’s amazing the lack of common sense and basic understanding that people have today!

If this was our full-time job, we would likely have found new careers by now!
