Toms River: It’s a rainy Monday, so how about we have a group discussion! Last week we reported that Burlington Coat Factory is taking over the old Toys R Us in the Bey Lea Plaza. Today, we found nothing new on the lease for Babies R Us. It is still listed as available on the management company’s website, so no formal plans have been signed yet.

We know Trader Joe’s is moving to Brick, so doubtful they would open a second store. Way too small for Wegman’s, and they’re not interested in Ocean County demographics at this time. Whole Foods is another fan favorite, but again our demographics do not line up for them.

Most people want a grocery store, but those options are thin as everyone already is established in Toms River at their locations. There is hope that a Hobby Lobby could work, but the company has not announced any more stores planned for N.J. recently.

We are asking YOU the fans- What store would YOU like to see in the old Babies R Us, and what stores would you shop at?
