On March 5th, 2019 an arrest on Drug Possession and Paraphernalia was made of a male subject at the Pleasure Zone in Brick. He was in possession of both Marijuana and Paraphernalia. Several vehicles were observed in the rear of the building. When the Officer approached the Subject he had admitted to prior sexual activity with males both inside and outside of the Pleasure Zone but stated he was there that day to relax after a long day at work by playing video games on his phone.

I guess no happy ending for him tonight
Stop wasting time busting potheads when people are overdosing on heroin at almost every corner!
Herions a joke. And anyone who still does it knowing the side effects of it that still try it are dumb
The majority of heroin addicts started with legal prescriptions. It’s very easy to just dismiss it and act like it’s just a problem for people who only want to get high; it’s much more complex than that when a straight edge 40 year old mother will be given a prescription for her back pain and winds up overdosing two years later.
Seen them all shapes and sizes. Lost to Many people to it. You know the chances of it bieng laced with fentanyl and still go for it. That on you and only you not a disease not a drug dealers fault that’s your own fault and now their family’s problem when they have to raise money to bury you
Mike Hurley Totally agree!!! You may have been given a script for pain killers for whatever reason but you weren’t handed a bag of heroin and a needle and forced to shoot up poison that has a high chance of killing you. That’s on the person holding the needle of poison and noone and nothing else!
Are we just going to ignore the fact that he’s been meeting other males there to have sex with? In the parking lot? #getaroom
Mike Hurley are you related to a Shaughn Hurley who’s family used to own Hurley Sand Pit on Herbertsville Rd where the Brick Reservoir is now
No I’ve been asked that before tho actually never even met them.
The people get addicted to the opioids from the prescriptions because the prescriptions are the same exact chemical that hits the same exact receptors.
The basic fact that you are so ignorant to that fact and are making it out to be completely different is one of the biggest contributors to the epidemic we have. These pain pills are heroin just with a different name……. so yes the doctors are essentially giving the patients bags of heroin.
Yes and that’s why they have been getting stopped left and right. Most people educate themselves. They will prescribe a kid painkillers for a broken leg but the kid takes them properly in their dosage and that’s that. I know how herione works and I know how its sold in different forms. I also know that this huge epidemic has happend and people are still continuously trying herion. Knowing the possible outcomes. That’s like watching a your friends running into a brick wall full speed. Are you going to try it or realize that it really hurt them and they are in pain. But no people still try it to this day. I have no pity I’ve lost alot of friends to this and I’ve seen alot of friends barely walk away. If your addicted get help but dont go blaming people for the choices you make knowing the outcomes. This “disease” starts with a choice.
I’ve taken pain pills and also have a very high chance of getting addicted to things very easily. But guess what. You take the pain pills as ordered and if you realize your getting hooked or finding yourself wanting to take one more. You cut yourself off and stop. I get it its not easy for people to have that much will power and self control. But as for the past 5 years seeing all these people die I think it should open everyone’s eyes to seeing the problem and knowing the solutions by now
You can take the meds exactly how they are prescribed and still go through withdrawals after the prescription is over…….
Now imagine how that affects someone with chronic pain…..
I had surgery to remove a cyst on my hand and I specifically told the doctors that I dont take tylenol and give me a weak drug, they still gave my hydrocodone….. even after it took me three extra hours to wake up from the anesthesia from the surgery…..the prescription told me to take a pill every four hours or “as needed”…… I only took them before I went to bed and after I woke up and dealt with the pain through the day. If I had taken them as prescribed I would have been addicted….
When the prescription says “as needed” it gives people the notion that it’s ok to take them. Add that with the ignorance such as stated above that people dont realize it’s the same exact thing as heroin and bam, they get hooked…..
I was doing upgrades to CVS pharmacies and even heard a lady yelling at the pharmacist that she was not an addict because she had a prescription even though she ran out a week too soon……
It’s not so cut and dry because when you take the prescription for an elongated period of time it alters your brain. It even gives you phantom pain to make you think you need more.
Mike Hurley dude, no offense, but still trying to play this angle after all this time, and after all that has happened… you would think people with your perspective would rethink things.. and by the way, the part where u walked away from the pain pills as oppose to those to who keep going, that’s where the disease comes into play. And you basically proved it when u said that. It’s all in the brain chemistry, and the disease side of it is something someone could have who goes through their whole life never touching any one of those things… it’s a brain chemistry issue that is there long before the person ever touches any drug. But clearly based on what you wrote, I’m pretty sure you’re just going to fire back with the same “oh it’s not a disease it all comes down to will power bologne.” How about this, take the biggest thing you EVER struggled with, whatever that may be, and think about the fact that someone else woulda never even been phased by it. Same thing. Its something that ruffled up your life that woulda never even effected another person. And if you say you haven’t been there with anything in your life, then you’re either really lucky, and your life just hasn’t brought that level of turmoil to you, ….YET. that’s the part all the judgemental people need to get. YET. You haven’t been hit YET with such over the top obstacles in your life. Most likely, you will, then maybe at that point you’ll look back and say, man, I was such a judgemental know it all prick..I wish I could go back to that me and smack the shit outta myself. But like I said I already know what bologne you’re going to shoot back, so I’m not even going to bother entertaining the idea of reading your response. But if you really wanna one up yourself, take a minute to really think about what I’m saying here. Have q nice day everyone
Kenneth Gregg I agree with you 100%!
My struggles would break people. I’ve buried over 15 people in 6 years. I lost one of my childhood brothers. I’ve been addicted snorting shit off a blow dryer in high school. I’ve lost so many family and friends to this shit its numbing. I dont even feel sorry for the people who die anymore only their family. I’ve buried more of my friends than I have left I’ve been homeless at the age of 16. I’ve watched people walk out a door and never come back. I’ve been around the block plenty of times so before you use your bullshit excuse of you’ll never know untill you know step foot in my shoes at any point in my life and you wouldnt last 2 hours. I lost my mother at the age of 2 and was made fun of for it in elementary school had kids tell me my mother never died she just ran away was bullied untill I stood up. Had a kid and spent and extra year in h.s while raising him when teachers told me my girlfriend at the time should get an abortion. Walked my now wife to class every day because she was pregnant and carried her books. Their is nothing left this world can hit me with that will make me feel pain. So no I’ll never look back and say wow I’m a dick. I will always look back at the kid who was told by teachers he was nothing and would never amount to anything and high five that kid for bieng a fucking stand up man. You can assume all you want but when you step foot in my shoes you’ll see pain. Facing attempted murder charges for defending you home 2 days after a hurricane. So before you say something to someone about not knowing what bieng addicted to something and not knowing the brain deffinceincys ask them their story before assuming because every time you assume something you make and ass out of yourself
Kenneth Gregg sorry if that came off like a dick but dont act like you know someone’s story or think they will look back on life and smack themselves because people like me who’ve lived lived that would break someone who never turned depressed or suicidal but only had a positive outlook on life are rare. I live my life everyday in the Hope’s that some people will follow. I treat everyone with the same respect I am given and I’m more humble than I should be.
He was just trying to Netflix and chill or rather rub one out and chill lol it was Friday! Let that man feel good and relax. It’s a damn plant
Can’t even smoke weed and cruise Grindr anymore around here…
Waste of time for pot, go after something worth the paperwork
stop wasting my tax dollars
Enough with the weed arrests waste of time go after the heroin
Pete Zito ??
May he burn in Jamaica.
Funniest article I’ve read in a while! And NOTE—the fucker WAS in the car while it was running and passing out. Don’t protect this idiot. Hahahahaha Pleasure zone. ????
Best part of the whole article:
“Due my training experience, I was able to determine it was marijuana by the look and smell.” ??
Seriously, enough with these petty arrests. Go do your job and find the people selling dope out their kitchen window. Waste of tax dollars, and then they’re gonna suck him dry in court fees….for a little tiny bit of weed. ??
This shit isn’t even law enforcement anymore, it’s all about extortion to them. I would bet most of these cops go home and smoke a doobie themselves.
Lock em up
A couple of thoughts for all of you complaining about the marijuana arrests.
You assume the police know ahead of time, when they approach someone after a drug deal, that the person was dealing in weed. Did it ever occur to you that the police make these busts looking for heroin and all the other dangerous stuff?
They don’t have x-ray vision to see what is being dealt at the time. The dealers aren’t holding it up saying “Get your weed here!”
And think about how many times police bust someone and find a whole bunch of stuff besides weed.
Just something to consider.
Karen Wall true..definitely true, but we all know if that particular officer really wanted to, he could ditch the weed charge, but still chooses not to. I think that’s where the problem lies.
Kenneth Gregg Exactly. They dont know what they are going into, but when they do figure out its something as small as this, they really could confiscate it, send him home, and let it be that. The issue is they all wanna meet quotas and would rather waste two hours on paperwork for a kid they will release after an hour, rather than enforce laws for actual issues.
But they’re subject to body cams now and don’t have the option of discretion.
My ex’s favorite place to buy his butt plugs ??
Jennifer Jems
Photos or we don’t believe you! ?
Ocean County Scanner News oh boy…lemme see what I can find
But if he overdosed on heroin, he gets narcan and sent home with out charges, that’s amazing
A little toke and stroke ?
Fukn Felons…??
It’ll be a magical day when Marijuana is legal in NJ and petty charges like this don’t exist
