According to a message sent out via the Honeywell Instant Alert for Schools system employed by Brick Schools, both Brick Township High School and Warren H. Wolf Elementary School were briefly issued a shelter in place order.

The shelter in place went in effect at approximately 12:00pm and lasted only till 12:06pm and was the result of the Brick Township Police Department pursuing a burglary suspect who fled during questioning.

The suspect was apprehended after he fled in the area of Brick Township High School which is what caused the shelter in place at all neighborhood schools (BTHS and WHWES). There was never any actual threat to the schools.


FYI BTHS and WHWES were in Shelter in Place today from 12 noon to 12:06. BTPD were on site. No threat to schools.

Good Afternoon… Brick Township High School and Warren H.Wolf Elementary School were in a shelter in place from approximately 12:00 to 12:06 today. The Brick Township Police were in the process of questioning a burglary suspect who then fled in the area of Brick Township High School. The suspect was then apprehended and is in custody of the Brick Township Police. There was no threat to the schools.
