Toms River: Earlier in the week we reported that the Fischer Boulevard Burger King closed abruptly Monday. Rumors indicated that the landlord raised the rent in the plaza, and it was no longer financially feasible to operate the restaurant. OCSN Staff drove by today and saw the building signs were taken down, except for one on the side. The road pylon sign is still up, and the restaurant is still listed on the BK website. What will come next for the building, or will it sit vacant for years?

Another building that will probably be sitting vacant forever. Unless some urgent care medical office decides to open up there. As much as I would like to see certain fast food joints give it a shot (Hardee’s in Brick seems like it’s no longer happening – maybe they could take the spot?), it just seems unlikely.

Now he will get NO rent.
Why r landlords aloud to do this look how many empty building there r its ridiculous
Pete Zito and they will keep building new ones
Are the landlords Hasidic by any chance? Would not surprise me. They are buying everything else up in TR!
Lucille Corcoran-Manzella so what if they are?
Bob ShieldsThey are buying shopping centers and raising rents to force tenant out.
Lucille Corcoran-Manzella Rise Up
Bob ShieldsShields maybe because they dont pay taxes yet take every tax backed help they can. They dont maintain their properties and even burn their trash to save money. Drive through lakewood before you think anyone is being biased ….
Bob Shields Their corruption and expansion is at an all time high in Ocean County.
They did that to modelles in Lakewood and turned it into a mainly kosher warehouse store McDonald’s closed alot stores left the home Depot Plaza
Jeff Parker yes, they bought the Home Depot center in Lakewood.
Lucille Corcoran-Manzella they own the plaza
Jeff Parker yes, that’s what I meant, the whole plaza that houses Home Depot
The plaza was dying before they purchased. I’d anyrhingbthey seem to be bringing it back to life. The samething could be said about Seagull Square on Rt. 9. It is nor fully occupied and looks 100 percent better.
Doug Hynoski Well when they occupy the entire region, and exclude you, we’ll see how great you think it looks.
Lucille Corcoran-Manzella those moving into the area are looking for space for their children to grow up. Just like many of us did when starting out. They maintain their homes and are friendly and neighborly.
Vacant… like the lot next to it
It was a dirty nasty store anyway
Al ONeill never was when I went in. I was there last week… not gross at all
Desiree Domer maybe I was there at bad times
Greedy landlords will get nothing now
A few stores closed up in that mall
Soon enough they’ll be another abandoned Plaza
It’s gonna be a Bob’s bagel like the one that just opened in brick..
but bob’s bagel in Toms River closed.. they were over by Michael’s across from target
Horrible location and different owners at this location..
We need a good “shoe shine parlor” in TR
Did the same in Jackson a few years ago. It’s a drive through bagel place. Not sure if it actually opened yet. Kinda big for a bagel place.
Lol, a whole building just for bagels, ridiculous
BK is nasty and going out of business anyway.
I see another bank coming in the near future..Just what we need???
I heard hasidics bought complex. Raising tents to get people out. School going in. Not sure how true
Dawn Borg Smith I believe that
Bob Kolas. Thats whatvhappened to the mc donalds in the complex next to costco. They also are not renewing leases over there. The home depot has a 99 year lease but they will probably raise rhe rent to puah them out
Don’t worry Pete. The boys from Lakewood are buying up everything and that will be a school which you will pay for..lolol
A Starbucks would do well there & good competition for the crappy DD across the street
That landlord is an ass
Dina Lopreiato lol we went there Sunday for coffee!
Remember I said to you I feel like every time I go in there it might be the last time. Lol
I was thinking I thought it was going to be a bank but it’s going to be a safe place for people to shoot up..
Joe Klag
Thank you KHov why not attract some business’s to your place instead of driving them out. Maybe do something to improve your plaza. More empty real estate in TR. I am sure the same owner owns the Crunch Fitness plaza. Invest in your real estate stop running it down.
I miss working there ?
Its a franchise deal. On rt 72 in Manahawkin Mickey D went out and they took away every corporate symbol and then the signs disappeared now it sits and sits
I ONCE GOT A HANDJOB FROM MIKE MCHALE, WHILE I WAS TRYING TO SHIT
