Toms River: OCSN Staff 01 took a ride by the mall today to check on the construction activity. The old Sears is completely leveled and the crews are removing debris from the site. Across the parking lot, the new BJ’s Brewhouse is framed up and moving quickly. There were no giant rats, nor protestors on site today.
Still no word on what stores will occupy the new Lifestyle Center that’s being built.
Is the one guy still picketing on Hooper Ave?
I heard that LA FITNESS is moving from Seacourt to the new remodel at the mall with a two story fitness center and new type of floating walking track. ?

This may be an Ignorant question – but why do they picket in the first place? I’ve seen the rat pop up from time to time in various locations, but never understood why. Does anyone know?
