NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) —
The driver of a school bus carrying children with special needs was revived with the narcotic overdose drug Narcan after crashing in New Jersey Wednesday.
It happened near the intersection of 14th Avenue and Jones Street in Newark around 1 p.m.
Law enforcement sources tell Eyewitness News that the female bus driver was on heroin.
Approximately 11 students were on board at the time, and at this point, it does not appear any of them were injured.
It was not known what school the students attended.

Totally agree with you Gage Kullberg and Robert Haas . it’s a choice not a disease. My son walking into a store and has allergic reaction to something is a disease. Hell until recent police were carrying narcan but couldn’t carry a epi pen. Not every state allows for them to carry epi pens. If the children were injured or even killed them they would be looking at this differently.

I worked with this woman that was coming to school drunk ever day told them she is so drunk nothing was done for months to one day she took a 3year old and wiped him across the room I called the main office this was 8 am .. By 12 pm they had this man come in to give her a breathalyzer well at 12pm she so drunk she was let go that day ..and very sad about 6months later I found out she died and she was only in her late 50s very sad but if they had listen to me from right away when I said she was drunk she may have gotten help and thank God the little boy was ok his mom flipped out and she had all right to ..
