TOMS RIVER – A township man was arrested for sexually assaulting a child.

Robert E. Bell, 28, was charged with four counts of aggravated sexual assault, five counts of sexual assault, and seven counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a Toms River Police official said.

Police opened the investigation Feb. 11 after allegations surfaced that Bell was carrying on a sexual relationship with a minor younger than 13. They found he had been having a relationship with the minor since June 2018.

Bell was arrested Feb. 15.

Additionally charges are pending.
