Historic courtroom 1 was not packed as expected for Judge Marlene Lynch Ford’s decision on whether the Eagle Ridge development application hearing could move forward.
It’s at least a temporary victory for residents of the Fairways at Lake Ridge adult community.
Attorneys for those homeowners, the developers of the Eagle Ridge Golf Course, and Lakewood Township’s Planning Board made their cases before Superior Court Assignment Judge Marlene Lynch Ford Tuesday afternoon, a mere few hours before the application for the development of the golf course was to be heard before the planning board.
Ford granted an interim restraint for 30 days, allowing the board to reschedule the development hearing for a March meeting.

Very disappointing so few attended. The Robison couple assaulted in August, were there despite their injuries. The next hearing is 3/4 @ 1:30, Court room 1.
BTW it was a victory for all of Ocean County imagine the increased need for services 1000 family units of 6 or more people each will impose on the rest of us: environmental, traffic, education, social services, etc… This is the beginning of the urbanization of Ocean county as we know it.
not just the need for more services and more and more of our tax dollars going to support an unsustainable population…you also have the fact that there is not enough potable water without killing the pine barrens.(see recent yale study for documentation on that one) the sewage treatment plant is not big enough to handle what it gets already without adding more units into it. inadequate stormwater control is killing barnegat bay. can anyone say njpdes violations 10x fast? add that hydrology 101 says that if the aquifer is continously overdrawn, the groundwater contamination plume from joint base is going to spread that much faster…..in short, absolute environmental disaster on several levels. yet lakewood continues to insist on overdevelopment despite the scientifically proven consequences to everyone. i for one would like to know why njdep reversed their original denial.
maybe people are afraid to get beaten up if they show up.
Nonni Susan that is a legitimate concern. there are threats made all the time.
It’s not disappointing at all that very few attended, it was to be expected, people do have to work during the day.
See people are quick to whine and complain yet can’t be bother to show up. Same thing happens with voting.
They have that stuff in the middle of a 9-5 work day on purpose so people don’t show up
this was definitely a victory for the fairview community. a small one, but a victory nonetheless. now lakewood planning board is on notice that they can no longer ignore lawsuits, objections, etc…and just plow ahead with whatever they want. i would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in the closed door session they had last night…..gotta wonder how many of them called the judge an anti semite?…it was made crystal the fact that other people have rights too….and those rights should be respected instead of ignored and trampled. here’s hoping that the next hearing goes the same way.
If people have to work, they have no choice
