SHIP BOTTOM – An extensive investigation has led to the arrests of two men following a drug overdose death that took place in April of last year.

Ship Bottom Police confirm 32-year-old Levi Brown of Egg Harbor Township and 62-year-old Ronald Parrish of Pleasantville were arrested this week.

The Ocean County Medical Examiner determined that a 40-year-old’s overdose death back on April 15, 2018 death was due to heroin. Investigators say the drugs were sold to him by Brown and Parrish.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office worked in conjunction with the Ship Bottom Police Department. Both suspects remain lodged in the Ocean County Jail.

Brown and Parrish were both charged with Strict Liability for a Drug-Induced Death, Manufacturing and Distribution of Heroin and Possession of Heroin.

According to police, this is the second time Brown was charged under the Strict Liability statute. In 2009, he was charged under the then-new law.
