Children’s clothing retailer Gymboree Group Inc. is expected to seek bankruptcy protection this week, with plans to close all 900 of its stores, according to people familiar with the matter.
This is another blow to the Ocean County Mall, as it prepares to lose another store.

Always loved their stuff… they did go bankrupt the years my kids were wearing it because I supported them like it was my job. Very sad to hear this!

Debbie Knabe gymboree play and learn was sold and separated from the gymboree corporation back in 2016. They are now a separate privately owned entity so that company will not be effected by the bankruptcy nor will the name which was sold with the business.

Erica Wildermuth saw this coming back when I managed. The whole brand was so mismanaged from regional managers all the way to the top. No direction, way too much cheap product, didn’t know how to effectively forecast sales so stores just sat on merchandise.

What a shame. Merchandise was pricey but if you hit the sales it was a bargain. Everything was beautifully constructed & wore like iron, washed beautifully & was passed from kid to kid. Quality stuff. You pay for what you get. It’s not Walmart crap.
