On Saturday, 12/03/2022 at approximately 2147 hours the Gloucester Township Police Department (GTPD) responded to a motor vehicle crash where it was reported that a vehicle had struck a residence.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the driver of the vehicle swerved, resulting in the vehicle striking a curb, traveling through the resident’s yard, and eventually striking the side of the residence. This crash caused a small fire which was quickly put out by the resident. All Gloucester Township Fire Departments responded to scene and quickly assisted GTPD in providing aid and assistance.

The occupants of the residence were safely removed from the residence and did not sustain any injuries.

The vehicle occupants were removed from the vehicle and provided with medical assistance by Inspira EMS & Ground Transport for minor injuries. The occupants of the vehicle were later transported to a local hospital for additional medical treatment. At this time all injuries appear to be minor.

The impact of the crash caused damages to the residence gas meter and main gas line which resulted in a gas leak. South Jersey Gas immediately responded and made the repairs to rectify the gas leak.

There was no explosion reported from this incident.

The Gloucester Township, New Jersey Construction Official (Building Inspector) responded to the scene and deemed the residence to be unsafe, but repairs are currently being made.

Erial Road was shut down for approximately three hours as the investigation was being conducted and repairs were being made. The roadway is now reopen and there are no longer any hazards present.

The motor vehicle crash is currently under investigation by the Gloucester Township Police Department.
