In under 24 hours Ocean County’s already full animal shelters and local rescues have been put to the test and resources stretched beyond capacity by receiving 145 dogs and puppies and 35 cats and kittens into their care from a residence on the 100 block of Arrowhead Park Drive. The name of the rescue affiliated with the address is Crazy Ladies Rescue, Inc.

These shelters and rescues are going to need supplies and support as well as foster homes among other resources. We know that the Ocean County Animal Shelter in Jackson and Manahawkin have taken in some of these animals as well as Popcorn Park (Popcorn Park apparently only provided transport services) and the Monmouthy County SPCA in Wall township. There are many smaller rescues who have also taken in animal that may need supplies. We are asking all shelters and rescues who are involved in this case to please comment how OCSN’s followers can help and where and what is needed. Once a list gets going in the comments, we will prepare a post dedicated strictly to assisting the shelters and rescues. Also, for those who may be interested in adopting, please share links to your shelter or rescue so applications can be reviewed.

From the staff here at OCSN a huge thank you to all of the first responders, the medical staff, shelters, rescues and volunteers for helping rescue these babies. This tragic story is weighing heavy on the hearts of our staff.
