On Sunday, November 27, 2022 at approximately 11:03 a.m., a motor vehicle crashed into the 7-11 store located at 2612 Tilton Road in Egg Harbor Township. A 2000 Toyota 4Runner, operated by George Watson from Somers Point, was attempting to park in front of the 7-11 when he accidentally hit the gas pedal. This caused the vehicle to jump the curb, and go into the front of the building. The crash caused significant damage to the glass doors and windows.
Two 7-11 employees were inside the store at the time of the crash. They were uninjured. Mr. Watson was also uninjured during incident.
The crash is being investigated by Officer Pat Daly of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit. The Cardiff Fire Company along with the Egg Harbor Township Fire Department Investigator assisted at the scene. The building was shut down for repairs.
