A two-vehicle collision that took place in Howell yesterday evening is under investigation.

Shortly before 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, members of the Howell Township Police Department and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office responded to a stretch of Southard Avenue just east of Manassa Road on a report of the collision. At that location, first responders located the two vehicles involved: a Ford F150 pickup truck operated by a 64-year-old resident of Jackson Township (Ocean County) and a Ford Focus hatchback operated by a 25-year-old resident of Howell.

The driver of the pickup truck was transported via medical helicopter to Jersey Shore Regional Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries, while the driver of the hatchback was taken to the hospital via ambulance. As of this afternoon both men remained hospitalized in stable condition.

The circumstances behind this matter remain under active investigation by the aforementioned two agencies and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART).
