On Friday, October 28, 2022, at 1:33 p.m., Officer Holt responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting that took place the previous day. Officer Holt was advised that on Thursday, October 27, at approximately 10:30 p.m., an unidentified female attempted to leave the store without paying for nearly $1,500.00 of merchandise. The female was stopped by an employee as she was exiting the store, and the merchandise was recovered. The female then left the area in a Chevrolet sedan, white in color. The suspect has yet to be identified.

On Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10:09 a.m., officers responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting. The store employee advised officers that they had observed a male and female attempt to leave the store without paying for $99.31 worth of merchandise. Officers met with the suspects, Joseph Esposito, 52, and Geraldine Elbassiouni, 54, both of Bayville, and placed them under arrest. Both Joseph and Geraldine were transported to police headquarters and charged with Shoplifting. Geraldine was released on a summons pending a future court appearance. Joseph was charged on a warrant and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility, without incident.

On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 11:22 a.m., Officers Hutman and Abrecht responded to Walmart for a reported shoplifting. The store employee advised officers that they had observed a female attempt to leave the store without paying for $152.91 worth of merchandise. Officers met with the suspect, Nancy Sabia, 59, of Forked River, and placed her under arrest. Nancy was transported to police headquarters, charged with Shoplifting, and released on a summons pending a future court appearance.
