The Atlantic Highlands Police Department is excited to be participating in the Safe Place Program, sponsored by Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office!

The program is designed as a partnership with local businesses in providing a safe place for the reporting of bias incidents and hate crimes. Participating locations display brightly colored decals in an entrance area, to show that the location will provide a safe environment for individuals to call 911 for assistance.

The Atlantic Highlands Police Department encourages interested businesses to participate. Participation is FREE and “the only requirement is twofold: if a victim of any crime (especially a hate crime) enters the premises, call 911 immediately; and allow the victim to remain on the premises until police arrive”.
