Hello Ocean County! We just wanted to share a few friendly reminders and updates for everyone out there in newsland. First off, our media organization will be entering our NINTH Year of continuous service of informing the Ocean County area of breaking news- (as of this July). Of course we were hoping for a larger 9th Birthday to celebrate, but sadly Covid, among other external factors disrupted some of our operations/ expansion. Fortunately OCSN is still here and operating as a volunteer news organization- with a small core group of dedicated unbiased staff. Do understand our lack of activity is NOT indicative of incidents occurring daily around Ocean County. There is truly no rhyme or reason to the stories we publish/share- most come from radio traffic heard on scanners our volunteers send in, and are verified. Society is more active than ever!

Our operations are quite robust, but Ocean County Scanner News only controls THIS Facebook page, our Instagram Page (oc_scannernews), Monmouth County Scanner News (not currently active), and our own website (www.ocsn.news). While we acknowledge our competition among Ocean County’s hyper-local breaking news organizations- we remind everyone NO OTHERS are within our control nor operation. Whether it be a local Facebook community page, an “Exit-numbered” scanner page, or a breaking news website- none of those sources are affiliated with OCSN. Ocean County Scanner News has enjoyed positive relationships sharing media & information across numerous national & local news outlets- except for Asbury Park Press since 2013. We have enjoyed delivering factual breaking news to our massive audience- and crafting our brand across social platforms. OCSN has grown to reach a massive audience of over 2 Million readers- organically thanks to all of you. Please remember; unless it is Ocean County Scanner News (OCSN) or Monmouth County Scanner News (MCSN) (*not currently active) Facebook/Instagram page- any material in question is NOT representative of our organization.

Finally with the busy summer coming, Seaside alone- we are looking for more volunteers to join our growing Award-Winning organization. Ocean County Scanner News is looking for people who want to help us post articles/stories. Most stories come off police scanners and radios- so if you have experience there it would help. Secondly, we use WordPress- so if you know how to use that, you can help us too! Don’t worry- we don’t have a corporate office for people to complain to.

If you are interested in helping or joining OCSN, please send us an email or text. Due to limited staff- please excuse the delay in initial reply.
