TOMS RIVER: POWER OUTAGE

Major outages have been reported from Vaughn, Fischer, Bay Shore, Coolidge, Garfield, and Shelter Cove this morning. Police were seen directing traffic at major intersections on Route 37 as the traffic lights were out. Island Heights Grade School reported a “Shelter in Place” from 9:10 AM to 9:45 AM due to power outages, as well. JCP&L sent out alerts estimating restoration by 12:00 PM, but some areas, such as Island Heights, are already seeing power being restored. At this time, the cause is still apparently under investigation. Do you have power in your area? Let us know in the comments!
