TOMS RIVER: EMS is on scene at one of the homeless encampments in town along the power lines- near North Bay for an injured party. Dispatch advises a homeless female in her 30s is requesting medical attention- possibly for infected wounds. The female patient allegedly was in a fight earlier this week, and believes her wounds from the fight to now be infected. EMS arrived and transported the injured party to CMC for further evaluation.

We also use this as an opportunity to remind everyone of NJ’s Code Blue laws which force every county to provide emergency shelters for homeless when it’s below freezing.
