Joint Base: Yesterday Phil Murphy wrote a letter to Joe Biden stating “New Jersey stands ready to welcome our Afghan allies, These brave individuals and families put their lives on the line in support of human rights and American initiatives must not be left behind.” He also stated “New Jersey will be better because of them.”

Tofay Phil Murphy tweeted “We will welcome Afghan refugees with open arms here in New Jersey at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst,” Gov. Phil Murphy tweeted on Monday. “Our state has always served as a shining beacon of hope to the world, and we will do everything in our power to help these refugees rebuild their lives.”

Today Joint Base MDL stated they will be accepting the Afghans who will be coming to America on a Special Immigrant Visa. This area will be the first stop for the Afghan’s whom will now call America their home.

A tweet from IS Northern Command stated “The @DeptofDefense recently approved a request for assistance from @StateDept to provide temporary housing, sustainment, and support inside the U.S for specified Afghan special immigrant visa applicants and their families, and other vulnerable Afghans, @jointbasemdl, N.J.,”

Currently the refugees are getting medical treatment, food, and housing orders at military bases across the globe including Germany, Bahrain, and Qatar, before they are flown to the United States.
