LAVALLETTE: Authorities are staging a landing zone at Brown Avenue beachfront park on the bayside for a Medevac to transport an injured officer. Many agencies & departments were previously on scene working a structure fire on the 100 Block of Elizabeth in Lavallette. At one point an EMT called out “officer down” as a cop on scene went unconscious. Currently Tri-Boro EMS is on location with the injured officer; whom appears to be in and out of consciousness. SouthStar Medevac is 12 minutes away from landing at the Brown Avenue park to transport the police officer to the closest trauma hospital.

Thankfully Tri-Boro EMS was on scene the whole time with the unknown police officer, whom was working the structure fire presumably. No further details are available at press time- the downed officer is scheduled to be Medevac’d to a nearby Trauma Hospital. Dispatch did advise the bridge tender to hold the bridge (don’t open it) to expedite the arrival of medics (ALS).
