BRICK: On Friday, January 15, 2021 at 00:08 hours, Vehicle 1 was traveling west on Route 70 between Chambers Bridge Road and Cedar Bridge Avenue. Vehicle 1 veered off to the right and impacted the guard rail. After impacting the guard rail, Vehicle 1 veered to the left, crossing the double yellow line into the eastbound lanes. Vehicle 1 ran off the road impacting the curb and guard rail causing the vehicle to overturn. Vehicle 1 came to final rest on its roof. The Driver of Vehicle 1 was trapped inside the vehicle.

Breton Woods and Pioneer Hose Fire Companies responded to the scene to extricate Driver 1 from the vehicle.
The Brick Township Police Department’s Patrol Units and Emergency Medical Services along with Robert Wood Johnson Paramedics responded to the scene. The Driver of Vehicle 1 who suffered lower body and possible internal injuries, was treated at the scene and transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ.

The Brick Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit responded to the scene to investigate the crash. Vehicular traffic on Route 70 eastbound was detoured around the crash scene for approximately 2 hours during the investigation. An ongoing investigation is being conducted by Ptl. Joe Farnkopf and Ptl. Jay Lampiasi of the Brick Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit.
