TOMS RIVER: Earlier in the week we shared a story about the dangers of Adams Avenue in town. OCSN used photographs of each dangerous intersection along Adams, and offered some basic suggestions to improve visibility. A blinking light to warn motorists of the cross traffic not stopping would be ideal- but baby steps are a start. One of the local residents sent us the photo today of the DPW crew out trimming the offending tree. There is much more work to be done- but finally this tree has been attended to.

That looks much better, hopefully it will help
They probably trimmed the tree because of Ocean County Scanner News published that article. It was you guys that wrote it, correct?

Yes, we were the troublemakers!

Ocean County Scanner News I knew you guys had posted it, but wasnt sure if it was a repost. Good job though. You’ve potentially saved more than a few people, a bad day and a messed up car!
Next we need Vaughn and Windsor taken care of! I Thank God I waited to cross over Vaughn when my signal was green 3 days ago or I would’ve been t-boned by a white car that blew the red light
Always TR’s fault, never the property owners…. ????
Garrett Clayton the property owner in this case would be Adamsway Condos.
Do you really think a developer who created a 16 unit condo complex, that looks like an apartment building, with no garages for occupant’s vehicles, cares about community impact??
How about just stop planting trees and shrubs in the curb strips, Look at Bay around Indian Hill. the town planted Pear trees that want to get 30 feet wide and tall. Every year they push out suckers that make seeing down Bay difficult causing you to pull further out into traffic.
Replace that stop sign and add another at the corner to the left, both solar blinking stops. It has been done elsewhere and works.
