LAKEWOOD: Earlier today police and EMS were on scene for another crash. This time it was the popular NJ 70 @ Shorrock intersection. We have no confirmed details, but it appears the white SUV rear-ended the blue SUV. Unknown on injuries. Happy motoring.
As always, Stay Alert- Stay Alive.
hmmmm…what do you think? Distracted driving by one or both??
Connie G-Wesosky Not using attention and weird day the one driving the white SUV may have been on their phone
Connie G-Wesosky Not both. The law is very clear that you are to maintain a safe following distance. Only one was not doing that, because only one was unable to stop.
Misty Dakota yes, I get that. However, I have seen drivers on phones or texting, or playing with GPS that will be going along at 50 MPH and suddenly drop their speed to much lower – so if someone behind is doing the 50MPH with cars behind them = this sort of thing could happen too. And I would fight the court if I was the one behind found to be at fault.
Connie G-Wesosky And you would lose in court in five minutes . Ask any lawyer .
Connie G-Wesosky well people shouldn’t tailgate! And if someone is doing 50mph, the only way I’m doing 50, is if I’m 5 car lengths behind, which is the recommended distance I believe! I don’t tailgate bc I was just rear ended sitting at a red light! So there’s no excuse(unless it’s health related) that someone should read end someone!
Tom Ryan always
Connie G-Wesosky Either way, we do not know the particulars of the situation. The blue vehicle could’ve been at a complete stop.
Michele Clayton ok – and good luck to you with “always” leaving the 5 car lengths. I travel on major roads up to Maine – speed limit is 70 on some. Even when trying to maintain the “safe distance” cars jump into that open space many many times. So, ok, good on you – for always being able to maintain the safe distances. I try too – but because of other wahoos on the roads not AWAYS possible!!
Michele Clayton Same here. I was at a complete stop, luckily far enough from the car in front of me when I got hit at 45 miles an hour by somebody that was picking up or putting something down.
You adjust your speed to maintain a safe following distance. Granted it’s not always possible because of the jackasses on the road, but you do your best.
Connie G-Wesosky You ever consider a remedial course in Driver Education?
When the other wahoos jump into that safe space between you and the car in front you just let off the gas and magically that safe distance reappears.
Try it ????
Tom Ryan
Connie G-Wesosky ok I travel the parkway everyday.
Misty Dakota I’m sorry this happened to you too. I left a half of car length when I was stopped from the lady in front of me, but the idiot who rear ended me hit me so hard(60mph) that pushed me into the car in front of me. I’m ok, they totaled my car. I was just so sad and angry bc I worked hard to get that car and paid for it myself and had it paid off for 2 years, from having a lady cross over the center line and hit me head on????
Connie G-Wesosky and you would lose!
Connie G-Wesosky I have seen this too many times to count. And the stopping to let someone out of a shopping center. Just really stupid
Pretty hard hit if you knocked their driveshaft off
Shawn Miller thats what i was thinking
just another day in Lakewood, they don’t know how to drive
Prayers
This road is terrible
Oops
Listen these Stupid Bastards Are Constantly On Their Phones! Last week another rear end there next to Depot.
