NJTP: With the rain today- the roads have been slippery all morning. Wet roads means more crashes- all the time. People still don’t understand how to drive in the rain, and can’t comprehend how they’re actually hydroplaning. Anyway, a random Trooper working the NJ Turnpike today was responding to yet another accident on the highway. Finally, he asks dispatch to change the VMS (Variable Message Signs) to ask drivers to slow down due to rain. The Trooper quipped that nobody knows how to drive in inclement weather- and they need to slow down.
We couldn’t agree more! Slow down, and save a life.

This is what happens when a drivers license goes from a privilege to a right. This is what happens when there’s no accountability.
This is the result of the “I’m entitled” bullshit.
One of the smartest thing I ever did was enroll my Son’s in a real drivers education course; it was taught in CT, classroom and on a track. I also attended. Most folks have no clue about the dynamics of driving, yet get to hurtle down a highway at a mile every minute rain, snow or dry. Driver ed test has not been updated in decades and is not what real life driving is like. Th driver education system is broken.
Even if some “have a clue” they just think they are invincible and ignore what they know – you know, the “it won’t happen to me, I’m no idiot” mentality. They are the biggest idiots of all – causing most of these kinds of preventable accidents.
The key words are “Driver Inattention”
Check out stats for driving accidents before and after cell phones. End of story!
Ummm. Windshield wipers people!
The cars had covid
People really need to redo their driving test, im with harold , i paid an extra 100 dollars before my actual driving test to really be taught how to drive.
its disgusting all these people causing accidents bc they believe they can drive like race car drivers
Can we get the Bennys to at least drive in the right direction on the highways?
Can’t blame the rain for making drivers stupid.
Walter Marzulli it’s those dam not hands-free cell phone useing safe in my SUV mentetallity
Does anyone actually do the speed limit anyway, pick any highway in the state, 65 mph is actually considered a slow driver and should keep right for those going 85 plus in the far left lane. Try jamming on the brakes at 85 mph on the parkway. Its not just cell phones or younger drivers its everyone on the road rushing to get someplace faster.
David McCallum I doubt it. I’d put my money on distracted drivers.

I would say ok but all the accidents today are much older and I don’t see that age bracket texting and driving
Also having good tires is critical
Average speed on the Parkway and Turnpike looks like it is now 95 MPH. Might have something to do with it.
