Due to inclement weather and “State of Emergency” issued by the Governor, BTPSD will be virtual, Thursday, December 17, 2020.

Give the kids a snow day..they have been through so much
Michele Patterson absolutely!!!! Snow day if we accumulate snow let the kids be kids !!!! Right now it doesn’t seem like much snow so keep school open ha
Michele Patterson ohhh cmon they only have class for total 3 hours a day… let’s be real they should make the school year longer if they are virtual
Jim Rogers its snow…dont you remember being excited about a snow day..let them be kids
Jim Rogers there’s snow in brick?
Jim Rogers its rain!!! Who is gonna go play in this!?!?!
Jim Rogers if they virtual, it’s only 4 hours. Why add an extra day when the work can still be done?
Jim Rogers what school are your kids going to? lol
Marjory Daub-Towey manchester got slammed with snow
Toms River is also calling for virtual tomorrow (not sure if they got their own post this is just the first one that popped up on my feed) I told my daughter she doesn’t have to log on tomorrow if she doesn’t want to. If you’re closing the buildings for “inclement weather” then that’s a snow day ????????♀️
Tara Davies we are bummed here in Toms River as well. I feel so sad for these kids anymore. My youngest is in the 11th grade so most of this stuff will be behind us soon but the children in the early years of elementary school will never know the joys of a snow day if they keep up with this virtual stuff.
I told my son to sleep in. No logging in tomorrow! ????
What about tonight!
I wish we can go back to the old days where you had to sit and wonder if there was enough snow on the ground for them to close…it’s currently 36, supposed to get up to 43 over night, and be all rain…single parents are going to have to use a snow day for nothing.
William Merunka agreed
Manalapan schools are having a snow day… I dont get why there are schools closing but still requiring virtual that bs
Cassandra D Falzone honestly the districts cannot win with many. Some complain that 4 hours a day isn’t enough. Others would complain that a full day is too much. Many complained that virtual wasn’t at all enough and demanded in person. On the days my son attends in person he is one of three or the only one in class. Not sure what happened to all the die hard parents demanding in person. I wasn’t one of them. I gave mine a choice as I noticed he was miserable being locked up in his room staring at a computer for hours. Think everyone needs to make up their minds what they really want. In my district they are only attending 4 hours a day whether virtual or in person. Plenty of downtime in between and after from what I can see at the upper level. ????♀️
Cassandra D, some schools did not build snow days into the school year this year. They usually have 2 or 3 for 182/183 days but this year started late and many schools have exactly 180 days, any day the school closes will get added to June because State law says they must attend for 180 days.
I think the headline should be parents complain about not having a snow day during a rainstorm
It’s rain. I’m ok with this because it means no extra days at the end of the year.
Up here in Maine they’re being cool, since they figure in snow days into the calendar any case they are giving the kids one even though they are in “virtual learning” 🙂
