Toms River: Yesterday we shared a story about a garbage truck fire in the Lake Ridge senior development in town. It was in the area of Dillon Lane near Vicari. By the time we heard the calls on the radio, the truck was fully engulfed. Initially it was thought to be a propane truck, but minor popping sounds were just part of the fire burning inside the garbage truck. The trash truck fire was extinguished by multiple fire departments on scene. There were no reported injuries as a result of this incident. Nothing official has been released by TRPD in regards to the nature of this truck fire.
