Toms River in the area of Silver Ridge near River Terrace was an unexpected visitor to someone’s backyard. A loyal OCSN fan sent in this Ring footage of what they believe is a Coyote. We’re not zoologists, but it has 4 legs and doesn’t look like or wants to cuddle.
Hide yo’ wife, hide yo’ Chihuahuas, keep anything that could potentially be a delicious supper away from Mr. Coyote. Don’t be another statistic.
Keep tearing down woods building. And keep banning hunting.
I thought it was open season on yotes?
Justin Lenzo I’m referring to town ordinances

Jersey Joe I’m in Toms River I see them all the time , even on occ property

Hello they are all over. They were here FIRST
Coyotes were first spotted in NJ in the 1930s. They are native to the western 2/3 of America, and expanded their range into eastern US in the early 1900s.

The amount of people confusing a fox with a Coyote in the thread is concerning
Just paint a fake tunnel on the side of a building, gets them every time
Anthony Raymond I can’t tell the difference between a dog Fox or coyote or a wolf they are all the same to me…lol
That picture above is of a coyote…not s fox.
See them everyday. They travel long distances looking for food.

Pete Heider “Coyotes”
George Waterson LoL I guess most people don’t know.
I believe there was a story about how coyotes came to this area. Fish and game brought breeding pairs to the abandoned dump in Waretown in order to curb the stray cat and turkey populations about 8 years ago. Now they are kind of taking over in spots
Chris Ryan
Coyotes have been here forever
Oh no, lock down for 3 months!
Tough angle but looks like a coyote
I’ve seen foxes in front yards in Beachwood and plenty of coyotes in Island Beach State Park!
