Why call 911 just jump in and get them?
David Langworth you don’t know the circumstances. Maybe the caller can’t swim. Maybe the caller is elder. Who knows.
Samarra Fennell exactly and if the owner gets wrapped up in the pool cover, they are both in trouble.
Shari Brucker Stopera one live lost is better than two lives lost. It’s unfortunate but the only people I’m jumping in after are my kids, anybody else is a 911. I don’t even mean to sound heartless but a tragic situation can turn even more tragic if you try to help ????
David Langworth i would risk my own life for any animal but thats just me.
Samarra Fennell dog lives matter
Skye Marie Williams everyone is different. I don’t blame you. I just wouldn’t
Skye Marie Williams im with u sis
Samarra Fennell oh I know that . Have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving.
Skye Marie Williams you too ????
Update: Dog has been safely retrieved, and is off to a vet.
Ocean County Scanner News awesome thank u

My worst fear, thank god the pup is safe.
Poor pup I Hope he is OK
Dog is ok thank you everyone for the well wishes this is my dog
Stop. Using. Tarp. Covers… the majority of the country has already outlawed them.
It was not a tarp it was an in ground pool cover
Daisy is back from the vet and doing ok, just some hypothermia. I heard her screaming in the yard while I was in bed, she’s a 13 yr old husky chow and likes to stay outside in the morning on cold days. By the time I got outside I looked all over the yard and couldn’t find her, then noticed the hole in the cover on the deep end of the pool. I tore the hole bigger but could not see her or hear anything, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I was totally devastated and called the police to help me recover her thinking she drowned and was somewhere at the bottom of the pool. Amazingly when the firemen got the cover off there she was laying on the on the pool stairs, she somehow was able to swim from the deep end all the way to the stairs. Even the police officer who arrived first said it was to quiet. We are so happy what we thought was a horrible tragedy turned out to be a happy ending. Much thanks to the Lacey police and fire dept.
Jim Matino so happy for your family!!! Truly a miracle ????
Thank you
Jim Matino

Jim Matino I’m so happy to hear that Daisy is okay. 2 of my dogs have gotten on the pool cover but thankfully didn’t break thru. I can only imagine all the emotions you went through. God Bless all the First Responders. I hope you, Daisy and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving
