Toms River: A few weeks ago we posted the story about the 7-11 on NJ 37 @ Hooper closing for good. We also learned that additional corporate-owned 7-11 locations will be closing in the coming weeks. Franchise stores are unaffected and will remain operational. The store on NJ 37 @ King is closed as of today with the building being dismantled and emptied. The location on US 9 @ Church with the gas station is also slated to close, unless it has already. Other 7-11 locations around Ocean County are bring reported as closed too.
If the 7-11 near you is closing or closed, please email OCSN with a photo if possible. Earlier this year it was announced that 7-11 parent company is buying Speedway gas stations to expand. Unknown if these closures are related, or just due to increased competition from Wawa and Quick Chek.
The Royal Farms March north isn’t gonna help this.
Wawa is much more comprehensive i guess
7-Eleven’s parent company has also purchased the Speedway brand from Marathon Petroleum, so I’m thinking this may have something to do with a few of the recent closures.
They tore down Stewart’s for this shit ?
Mike Salimbene that’s exactly why I’ll never step foot in that store
Michael Giambattista i did once.
And I dont go to the one on bay and fischer either
They are closing for 2 weeks to get funding due to covid. The one on church and rt9 will be closing on Dec 7th for 2 weeks
Raymond DiBernardo
If they’re closing temporarily, why spend money to take down all signs and empty the stores?
Ocean County Scanner News. ????♂️ thats what they told me yesterday at that store
April Menke?
I was it there Sunday. The clerk said they were closing and mentioned all the discounts.
How does that work? Did they close to get Covid relief money?
The one on fisher blvd also is closing
Dawn Yellen already closed as of yesterday
Dawn Yellen
Fischer @ Bay is closed also.
Ocean County Scanner News I was thinking about that one.
Ocean County Scanner News Didn’t they just build that not too long ago?
Sharon Tozzi Triggs
Yes, it was a newer, nicer store.
Wawa destroyed them. Most 711s are Indian ran and no fresh sandwiches or foods. That hurt them.
7/11 is taking over the speedway in the new year
Shame now more business for Wawa
Where is there a 711 on hooper and 37????
Kevin McGrath
Correction made.
Ocean County Scanner News but it was Fischer – not King.
Correction: The 7-11 pictured is on NJ 37 @ King, not Hooper.
Where will our children eat now? Thanks Murphy!
They need to shut down 7-11 in seaside heights
One in Jackson on Bennetts Mills is closing
Michelle Daigle-Rossi that store was disgusting!
Chrissy Seymour I was never a fan of any 7-11, so I never went in. Just drive by it often.
Michelle Daigle-Rossi drove by yesterday and they are closed
Ocean County Scanner News yes, I meant closed. It opened today as a Indian grocery store from what I read on a local fb page
New Prospect & Bennetts Mills is now Jackson convenience store. Same ppl. They take great care of the store. Still have blueberry coffee!
If you would have told me when I was a kid that Wawa and soon-to-be Royal Farms is going to put 7-Eleven out of business wow now if we can get rid of those Quick Chek next non-service having bad food making franchise
Wtf, now we’re do I get my slurpees!
Kevin Brzozowski icees for you now ????
Kevin Brzozowski you don’t need anymore slurpees ????♂️????
Brandon Fennell pot calling the kettle black lmao
Kevin Brzozowski I’m not saying i need a slurpee and it’s a mixed kettle ????
Brandon Fennell lmfao
Wawa is eating there lunch… that is why they are closing… QuickCheck kicking 7-11 to the curb.
Speedway on 37 will be 7-11 soon.
Jim Yuelling after the new year
Daniel Thomas Pogue . I know
2 in Jacksin closed. Bennetts Mills Plaza and Romeo’s Plaza same owners under Jackson convenience store.
Tom Coopey I pass both daily and didn’t notice the romeo’s plaza one. Don’t think I ever went to either except for an atm run once lol
Nicci Estrada LOL
Yeah all three closed in Jackson. County Line as well…
Nicci Estrada wonder what will be going in there
7-11 back in the day was awesome they would make sandwiches and the butter hard roll was the best. Coffee used to be guud.
Christian Hafner depended on which one you went to. Most let the coffee rot in the pots. It is still good if its fresh
