I just signed meaningful sentencing reform legislation that:
Establishes a compassionate release program for certain inmates
Adds a defendant’s youth to the list of permissible mitigating factors a court may consider when sentencing a defendant

I urge the passage of the remainder of the bill package:
Eliminating certain mandatory minimum terms of imprisonment
Allowing the mandatory minimum reforms to apply retroactively
Allowing for the resentencing of some inmates

But the one regarding gravely ill inmates explains if 2 physicians diagnose them with a terminal illness and have only 6 months to live, they can be released to home.

Sounds like a $MONEY$ thing to me, not saying that we should keep someone locked up that for Ex. has stage 4 terminal cancer etc. Can’t stand MURPHY and I’m a reg.
