The Jackson Police Department is seeking any witnesses who may have information regarding a recent shooting incident in the Township.

On Friday October 9, 2020, officers responded to a residence located in the 300 block of Toms River Road (571) on the report of a resident who had returned home to discover what appeared to be bullet holes in the house.

Investigating officers discovered that the residence had been struck by several rounds, one of which penetrated a couch in the living room of the residence. The resident and her children were not home at the time of the incident and there were no injuries.

The officer’s investigation determined that this incident took place between 8:00 – 8:15 pm. The scene was processed by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigations Unit and the investigation is ongoing and is being followed up by Jackson Police Detective Robert Reiff.
