Moments ago on Facebook, Governor Murphy posted more about his support for legal marijuana. He explains how NJ is still wasting tax money arresting people for possession of weed. It would have been nice if Murphy lived up to his promise to make this happen during his first 100 days though. Either way- the question will be on the ballot this year on Election Day. Murphy’s post is below:

It is time for the FULL legalization, regulation, and taxation of marijuana, allowing us to reinvest directly in our communities. Investments that will pay DIVIDENDS – in contrast to the costs of mass incarceration.

Just to be clear- Murphy can talk all he wants about legalizing marijuana. He had his chance within 100 days of him taking office- like he promised voters. By placing it on the general referendum questions this time, it removes his influence or responsibilities. If it passes, the NJ legislature will enact the policies and procedures to permit recreational marijuana use among adults 21+. While Murphy can publicly endorse it, voters will answer the question without showing any allegiance to Murphy or any political party.

I saw my patients in pain suffering & it helped them like it did you, however most were on disability for their illness & could not afford, so even though they had cards, they still bought off the street. Isn’t uncanny the insurance companies will pay for opioids, oxy, percocet etc drugs that are addictive but not a plant based remedy. ALL ABOUT BIG PHARM & $$.
