I wish I had known they would be doing it I have one that needs to be retired
Bobbie Lyn Harrsch These are retired flags they’ve collected throughout the year. There is a flag dropbox outside almost every VFW hall, just put it in for the next ceremony.
Matt Tottle
Thanks for that information!
Matt Tottle I used to give them to the Boy Scouts as I know they do a lovely ceremony retiring and the boys work on badges to set it up. Unfortunately I haven’t seen any local scouts in yrs. Now I will look for a VFW drop box
Bobbie Lyn Harrsch its usually an old USPS street collection mailbox by the front door thats painted red or white, but itll always say its a flag collection box.
Bobbie Lyn Harrsch my son’s troop does this too. Here is a link from this weekend in Gettysburg https://www.facebook.com/947290982327192/posts/1439230746466544/
If you have a local boy scout troops they are authorized to retire flags. They have a service they go through with their members. It is a great experience for them.
Dawn Borg Smith used to be commitie chair when my boys where scouts. Loved it when we had our ceremonies
The Elk’s Club in Toms River has one. On Washington Street. ????????????????????????
Bobbie Lyn Harrsch Lowe’s stores have collection boxes
You dont burn flags period
Tammy Britton yes, you do.
Brian Murray i would never ever …..
This is how it’s is done. Take your unserviceable flags to the VFW, and we destroy them with proper ritual.
Brian Murray still. I agree with Tammy. I’d rather put it in a frame. Flag brining of any kind just seems wrong to me. Sorry
Brian Murray when you use ‘ritual’ in a sentence it literally transforms your whole movement into a cult like behavior. it’s a piece of cloth brian, calm the fuck down.
Martin Brown go burn all your money then, it’s just paper
Peter Allen while it literally is indeed just paper, unfortunately it holds value for commodities, unlike the flag. good luck buying your groceries with a flag pete.
Y’all need to education yourselves.

Christopher Andrews I get it. Just. I would hate to know our flag was ever in flames. I understand the ritual but. Guess it’s just me
Martin Brown ask a service member how much that flag is worth. Take a walk through Arlington national cemetery, they all thought it was worth more than their life
Peter Allen well it wasn’t.
Martin Brown its a generic term
John Wyckoff say what?
Tammy your joking right? This is the proper way of retiring old tattered flags. It’s not a bunch of jerkoffs burning it for fun.
There is no proper way burning a flag .. My opinion ..
Scott A Barnes this country isn’t worth dying for.
John Wyckoff ok…
John Wyckoff wow really..tgen gtfo
Scott A Barnes this country sucks. Look how they repay the men and women who fight for us? Half the wars we’re involved in are to line the government’s pockets. We haven’t fought for freedom in hundreds of years. Don’t fool yourself. Money is not worth dying for.
Tammy Britton how many years do you have in the service? I am a veteran. I can say so.
Brian Murray horrible
Tammy Britton
John Wyckoff you’re a vet, and it gives you…other than respect for your time of service?
John Wyckoff i have none.. Lol.. U can say so all you want .. I feel different bout burning the flag why. Yall ???? over this ….my choice… Free will
Tammy Britton I say I’m a veteran and you laugh at the comment. Thank you for proving my point. Americans are not worth fighting for.
Tammy Britton you’re a single, stay-at-home mom? How does that work? I can see why you love this country so much…tax payers are your baby daddy.
Please, everybody that’s hanging flags off your car. When they become tattered and torn they are no longer serviceable; drop them off at your local drop box or VFW for proper disposal.
Brian Murray or better yet, stop beating up the American flag by hanging it off your truck.
Brian Murray maybe you can dumb it down for everyone lol
Severini RT flag ripped = bring to VFW. Buy new flag.
Tim DeSaules excellent lol
Great for environment
I had no idea this was done. U learn something new everyday
Watch this photo get attached to some story about protestors burning the flag lol. Not by you, OCSN.
That is ridiculous my father would be shocked by this he was a navy man on submarines in ww2
Democrats yuk! ????????
Andrew Schwartz uhm, that’s the proper way to dispose of old flags? In a ritual at the VFW….
Andrew Schwartz typical republican????
Special kind of stupid , it’s the proper way to dispose of flags dingle dick.
Not a democrat and yes I come from an anti-democrat family!
Came here for the stupid comments. Wasn’t disappointed.
John Paccione
Thanks for doing it right! I’m a kid of a Nam vet and grandson of a WW2 vet too.
I thought it was an offense to burn a flag ??????
Jonathan Ramirez Sr. Not if its done properly.
Done properly wtf
Jonathan Ramirez Sr. That’s the only way you dispose them and it has to be done a certain way
By burning ? Certain way
Your still burning a flag “that’s no use” anymore ???
A load of bullshit it’s illegal to burn a flag but legal ???
Jonathan Ramirez Sr. Well champ it’s not illegal a lot of people think it should be. But again this is being done by people that went to war for this country you may have become disabled in their service, who had brothers and sisters that did not make it back. Yes there is a ceremony to do so properly. If you cared about anything but Jordan’s and smoking blunts you may have a clue.
Here you go “if I care about Jordan’s and smoking blunts” your deff a price of shit no offense?? U judged me off what that made you say that you deff ain’t shit for that comment you have to be white for that comment
Matthew Horner all I did was ask a question you came talking about blunts and Jordan’s they say don’t judge a book by its cover you deff did u don’t know me I’m glad I don’t know you
Jonathan Ramirez Sr. Ah the race cared well played! I just used the info off your FB what you put out is how you’re judged.
What I post doesn’t judge me u go off Facebook lmao a picture is a picture so if I post pics of other nvm I not gonna go back and forth with you
#trump2020
I do custom sneakers lmao custom clothing if u wanted to snoop homeboy my fb isn’t private
Thank you to our wonderful vets
This the proper way to dispose of an unsuitable US Flag. This is our ritual and proper way to do it.
I remember the first time I saw this. The boyscouts were doing it outside of my local tattoo shop and I was thinking what kind of sick cult is burning American flags
I am a former Boy Scout and THIS CEREMONY is THE PROPER way to dispose of a flag that can no longer be used. Everyone else saying different needs to DO SOME RESEARCH
Good to know!
How do one burn a flag properly u just burn it
I don’t need my flag anymore can I burn it???
Jonathan Ramirez Sr. Theres a ceremony that’s is done
Ceremony u mean a cult lmao
Jonathan Ramirez Sr. Yea that’s it a cult you dolt
