So today I had a chance to check out the progress of the new LIDL store going up in Brick, New Jersey. Having seen a lot of work sites go dormant, it was nice to see progress happening, construction workers on site, and signs that things will get back to normal, even if it’s a new normal.
Currently the 3 nearest LIDL stores are as follows:
- Howell NJ – U.S. 9: 4250 U.S. 9 Howell, NJ 07731
- Eatontown NJ – NJSH 35: 136 NJSH 35 Eatontown, NJ 07724
- Lacey NJ – US 9: 514 US 9 Lacey, NJ 08734
Citing supply chain issues that have cropped up with the pandemic and restrictions based on where certain supplies were coming from, the general contract was proud to announce that while there were delays on some materials, his crew didn’t loose a single day of work due to the pandemic. It was mentioned that while construction workers were considered essential, they could not wait to return to the office in some form, where they could get faster feedback on blueprint issues and change orders.
The general contractor was unable to give me a time-frame for when the store would be open due to not knowing how long it might take for corporate to train their staff and getting everything up and running, but based on the progress I saw I don’t think we will have to way too much longer and that we may see it open by November 1st, 2020.

Ocean County Scanner News thank you
Which plaza will it be located in?!
riverwalk shopping plaza (next to dollar tree)
I was in this shopping center a couple of days ago. So nice to see what they have already done to pave the parking lot that had been so full of pot holes.
Great store.
What store is it ? What does LIDL stand for?
I have been a land surveyor for over 3 decades with the last 4 years working primarily in Ocean county. I can tell you that, with the exception of the first week the lock down was issued and the waiting for clarification from Murphy on construction being essential, construction, at least for the firm that I am with, never slowed. In fact, this spring and summer were one of the busiest construction season I have seen in my career. Not a single residential, commercial, infrastructure of school projects were delayed at all due to material shortages.
