Rescue crews were busy yesterday saving people who went into the ocean to swim. A dangerous rip current formed due to offshore storms, which kept first responders busy all day.
One victim died in Lavallette as he couldn’t be saved. Police said the man who died was 60 years old. He was rescued along with a 24-year-old man, who survived. Their names were not immediately released.
Please be safe in the water, and don’t swim if there aren’t lifeguards.
