Toms River: Mayor Maurice Hill and Police Chief Mitch Little attended the grand opening of New Horizons in Autism’s residential home in Toms River.
This home is the first of two grand openings in town. This home will give 4 individuals with autism the opportunity to live in a beautiful home while receiving around the clock care and support.
As of 2020, NHIA has 14 Residential Programs, 3 Day Programs, in addition to our After School Program, Saturday Program & In Home Support Program that provides services to over 110 individuals throughout Bergen, Monmouth & Ocean Counties in New Jersey.
Congratulations on the beautiful new home and good luck!

Is operating a medical facility in a residential neighborhood right???
Joe Valerie it’s not a medical facility. It’s a place for them to live. There are employees that will be there to oversee the residents taking their prescription meds.
Robyn Cherubini sounds like a medical facility
Joe Valerie then I guess that my house is a medical facility since I oversee the medications that my family takes.
Robyn Cherubiniem from putting halfway houses in residential neighborhoods next; seems there are better options
Robyn Cherubini you don’t get paid or receive state tax credit
When a llc owns a house you must ask questions
Joe Valerie there are homes in alot of neighborhoods already for special needs and people in recovery. Do you think that they should all just be hidden away in institutions smh
Robyn Cherubini absolutely not; just not in established residential neighborhoods; i
Joe Valerie why not?
yes why the hell not?
It’s not a medical facility. It’s their home!!!
Joe Valerie so not in established residential neighborhoods meaning they should be in commercial districts or maybe the ghetto?

Joe Valerie ????
Ignorance at its best… smdh
Joe Valerie Please explain you’re moronic statement.
Wanna buy my house I live next door
Congrats to the new home
Derrick Portee thank you I’m going to start operating a glass shop out of my garage; since we are now a commercial zone; the future is bright
Awesome!!!
Joe Valerie your opinion is quite rude! You clearly are an example of why those with special needs get a bad reputation!!!! I would gladly bring one of the kids/adults I work with around you and prove to you that your uneducated view is complete wrong and ignorant
Glynnis Vargo once again someone attacks about “education” give me a break it brings property values down; that’s all end of story; you take the 16 people showing up all hours of the night; slamming car doors; outside on the phones; I live here
Joe Valerie great!! Thanks for that I mean I’ve only been doing this type of work for ten years! Out of curiosity have you ever even thought about what these families going through!? You’re main concern is your HOME and you don’t ever have to worry about what happens to your adult child when you can’t take care of them anymore
Joe Valerie then where?banish them?????????????
Joe Valerie and that can all be done when a family with teenagers lives next door to you.
I have a special needs son and I work in a group home in a neighborhood. Disgusting ignorant comments.

We have group homes all over Beachwood, I think it’s great that our people with disabilities have nice homes to live in. There by the grace of god go I, that could easily be anyone of our family members.
