Wish they gave out insulin and other medical needs like this…. but I digress
Curious to know why we can give this out for free and not epinephrine pens
Joey Santarseri Because only heroin addicts have a disease……
Patrick Brennan do you mean a choice. as the ones having a allergic reaction do not
Joey Santarseri sarcasm buddy….sarcasm ????
I got ya Patrick Brennan
Mind blowing to me
Joey Santarseri no shit. Once ok, 2-3 times in a day then rinse and repeat….no
Joey Santarseri Good question!
Joey Santarseri as someone who has severe anaphylaxis… i don’t mind people getting free naloxone. i think it’s great. epi pens aren’t free but if you get the off brand ones/use coupons they aren’t all that expensive. there’s a reason why they don’t hand it out to anyone for free, and it’s because it’s so so dangerous if used incorrectly or at the wrong dosage. as well as that, it’s way easier to avoid having an allergic reaction as opposed to people who overdose. i see literally no issue with it being given out, it’s only going to save more lives.
Joey Santarseri while you’re comparing apples and oranges maybe ask someone other than a friggin OCSN post.
Like your congressman.
Is it next door to the needle exchange program?
Too bad they don’t give out glucagon kits for diabetics with super low blood sugar. That stuff is isn’t cheap
Ridiculous !!
Justin
Can my family get their free insulin pens??? Can they get their free cancer medications?
Not looking to condone drug addicts to OD. If they went as far as leaving it on my doorstep I’d throw it right in the garbage.
Christopher John Karbownik a few years ago I would have disagreed with you…. however today’s point of view is exactly like yours
Yet a generic epi pen costs almost $400. What a twisted society we live in.
Rich Fetterly if you’re paying almost $400 for generic you obviously didn’t do your homework…
i will never understand why people are upset that a life saving medication is free. yeah it should all be free but that’s really not the point of the post.
Ridiculous
Let them over dose already. So this dope shit can end already
Here’s the a$$hole who laugh reacted to this
Laura Michelle add my picture too. This is fucking retarded.
Laura Michelle what’s your point?
Laura Michelle not surprising.
Most people already know what an ass he is.
Laura Michelle i laughed also. Your point?
Laura Michelle Who cares who laughs everybody is allowed to their own opinion
So much for all lives matter huh? Smh
Chris S junkies dont matter
Scott Therrien disgusting
“Let them overdose already so this dope shit can end already”???
☹️????????
That’s pretty sad.
Even in the year 2020, addiction is so largely misunderstood. I’ve never met a drug addict who enjoyed being a drug addict. This medication has to be widely available to ensure that it can save a life when needed. Just as with any other medication- it is possible for it to be misused by some but the wide majority of users who OD only do so ONE TIME. We don’t often hear about the Narcan success stories or life after an overdose- I would imagine that’s because of the continued stigma from people who have never dealt with addiction and know very little about it.
The “no questions asked” approach is needed because that very same stigma and shame stops people from reaching out for help – often resulting in a death.
If there is anyone who is reading this post and is need of help, please feel free to inbox me.
As for the other medications not being free, contact your local senators and congressmen. Ask them.
Fucking absurd. I don’t feel bad for their poor decisions and I don’t think they deserve unlimited bailouts either
Here it’s free … Continue making horrible choices for yourself . The government got you, no worries.
What about Free Epi Pens?
Pumpkin spice is out now i heard
What about free insulin? That saves lives too
James Killeen
Free “medicine” for a self-induced “disease”.
Let me know when they’re handing out free blood pressure pills.
Mark Haelig exactly. And free epipens.
And free Glucagon or Diastat
A little food for thought for the narrow minded individuals who think drugs don’t discriminate. It can and will creep into anyone’s family in the most unexpected way. Some people do deserve a second chance at life like this little boy who got to have his mother back. People shouldn’t judge so quickly. Just a thought yall
Angeline Grace not all people are judging but how about like all these other people are saying . Where’s the free epi pens or insulin or the blood pressure meds ? I work in the hospital and you would be surprised of all the people who need blood pressure meds but can’t afford them . Wheres the fairness in this ? Everyone deserves a choice to be saved
Justine Martin Mack be mad at the big pharmacy companies who need to make that all mighty dollar bill. not the addicts. They have no say over this what so ever and if ppl think a $50 narcan kit isn’t worth saving someones life then they have one black heart.????
I have lost many loved ones from overdoses and had many brought back due to narcan and they are the ones who continue to do drugs without getting help and have heard from some that they didn’t want to be brought back . So in all actuality we will never know the whole story
Angeline Grace how many times though ? It causes long term damage
Justine Martin Mack so does long term drug use. As many times as it takes. To me….all lives truly matter even the addicts that people wanna let die for some reason. U think they wanna live their life this way? Hell no! Personally I think the system should mandate them to rehab after the first narcan incident. People who drink for years and then get cirrhosis of the liver , then die? People sympathize for them right? Very similar just alcohol takes much longer to kill you then dope. Same as lung cancer from long term smokers. They kno what that does to their body but they still do it. Same just different substance abuse
You love to see it.
Let’s give out epi pens too. Life saving devices.
Hannah K Mary insulin and inhalers too
How about some free epi pens
Calm down everybody, this most likely doesn’t even cost as much as a Trump golfing trip.
You’ll feel against it until it’s your son/daughter/niece/nephew/friend or anyone you really care about who’s life has been saved, and you see them turn their life around.
Don’t forget, a lot of other health issues (i.e. diabetes) also come from poor life choices (I should know, I have it.) or environmental factors from a world we have chosen to destroy and neglect on a daily basis because we like our convenience, cars, over consumption, and over-processed foods.
Try to remember who the real enemies are – one being big pharma who others mentioned – who make these things ridiculously over expensive in the first place.
We all get pitted against each other on topics like this while we somehow easily accept the overall raping of society. We have the top percent already making things hard enough.
Choose kindness.
Choose love.
Choose making the world a better place.
Renee Liebman-Rooney well said!
Really this what it’s become! Get your friends and family in check
It’s truly amazing how little knowledge people have when it comes to addiction.
Until it pops thru that little bubble they live in.
Andy Nemec I couldn’t agree more
Might as well give them the drugs and needles as well smh
Or insulin
Just wondering when my husbands insulin will be free? Or maybe my epi-pens? That would free up some money for my bills!
Sacheen Welch my daughters inhaler!! $400 a month. We have good insurance so it’s $75 but still!! They give out prescription for Xanax and pain pills for zero copay but what she needs to stay alive costs a lot of $$
Jeannine Reilly I’m right there with ya! Insane it is ????♀️
They are complicit in the use of heroin by giving these out for free.
Justin Bosak
It’s 2020 and the comments still look like this … YIKES
