PRESS RELEASE-VICTIMS OF POINT PLEASANT BEACH STABBINGS IDENTIFIED
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Point Pleasant Beach Chief of Police Joseph A. Michigan have identified the two victims of the stabbings that occurred in Point Pleasant Beach on Monday, September 7, 2020. The victims are identified as Alex Galdamez, 22, and William Mazariegogo, 18, both of West Haverstraw, New York. Both victims sustained multiple stab wounds. Both victims are in serious but stable condition at Jersey Shore Medical Center. A 17 year-old male juvenile from Newark, New Jersey, has been charged with two counts of Attempted Murder.
Very disturbing to see that this happened here. Neither victims nor assailant were locals – not that it makes it any less heinous, but the crime rate in our shore towns does escalate when the population increases with out of towners coming to “enjoy”. Hope the victims recover – and hope justice will be served.

It means using money being spent on unnecessary equipment in police departments and diverting it to other forms of public safety and community support, like social services, youth services, housing, education, healthcare and other community resources. This is a win/win situation that will make the job of officers easier in the grand scope of things.

No valid reason for a 17 year old to have a knife, or for an assault rifle in the hands of any 17 year old. They were both wrong. Sad thing for these 2 young men. A split decision in circumstances will change their whole course of life. There is no winner in either of these situations.
